Frequently Asked Questions
How do you make the soup?
In a sauce pan, mix equal portions of our condensed soup and Half n' Half together. (use your empty can as a measuring cup)
Stir constantly to desired temperature, do not boil.
Does Half n' Half mean half milk and half water?
No. It means to use equal parts of Half n' Half cream and condensed soup.
Is it OK to use milk instead of Half n' Half?
We recommend using Half n' Half for all of our cream based soups. You may use whole milk, 2%, or Fat Free Half n' Half if you wish, but the consistency and flavor will not be the same as if you sampled it at one of our shows.
My soup isn't as thick as when I sampled it, why?
The longer you stir, the thicker it gets. It also thickens as it sits.
Can I make my soup in a crock pot?
Yes! Stir well, set it and forget it! It will be worth the wait...
Can my soup be frozen?
Yes, we recommend freezing it in it's condensed version, not after it is prepared.
Can I add things to my soups?
Yes! Be creative and make it your own!
There doesn't seem to be lumps of crab meat in the crab soup, why?
As the soup goes through the canning process, the delicate crab meat breaks down due to the intense heat of the preparation.
How long does it last once it is made?
We recommend to refrigerate and re heat for up to three days.
